I am Sarah Jabs, a family photographer based in Wetter (Ruhr). My passion is people photography: families, children and the small everyday stories that make life meaningful. I focus on capturing unstaged, genuine moments — laughter, closeness and the little rituals that define a family. That authenticity is what gives my family photos their lasting power. My approach is personal and calm. Before the session we talk about your wishes, favourite locations and the atmosphere you want to create. On the day of the shoot I prioritise a relaxed, child‑friendly environment: few rules, lots of patience and playful guidance so little ones enjoy themselves and stay natural. Whether at home, in the park or at a beloved spot in the Ruhr area — I photograph where your family feels at ease. I combine technical skill and experience with a focus on people: natural light, careful composition and an eye for tender details create storytelling images that will bring back the feel of your family for years to come. I work unobtrusively and observationally, stepping in with gentle direction when a little help with poses or timing is needed — resulting in both spontaneous reportage shots and thoughtfully composed family portraits. From my base in the Ruhrgebiet I’m happy to work in Wetter (Ruhr), across the Ruhr region and throughout NRW. In addition to core family sessions, I also offer — on request — newborn, baby and children shoots, baptisms, communions and birthday coverage. These complement my main focus on family photography while keeping your family’s story at the heart of the work.
