As a family photographer based in Neustadt/Nord, I avoid staged, formulaic images. I’m Şeyma Özkan from Visualbaklava, and my approach focuses on authenticity: real looks, small gestures and the everyday moments that shape a family. Since picking up my first DSLR in 2009 I’ve developed a style that comes close to people while leaving room for natural behavior. My family photography combines documentary sensitivity with a warm visual language. Whether it’s a relaxed session at home, a walk through the neighborhood, or spontaneous outdoor moments — I photograph in a way that lets you be yourselves. For baby and newborn sessions I emphasize a calm, considerate approach: I observe, take my time and capture the intimacy and security that new families radiate. How I work: We start by discussing your wishes — often a short message or contact form entry is enough. On location I create a relaxed atmosphere, offer gentle guidance and allow space for unscripted, genuine moments.
