fotorika is all about real family moments. I'm Rika, a photographer based in Buchholz in der Nordheide — coffee lover, former early-childhood educator and self-employed photographer for over 13 years. My work follows a documentary, attachment-oriented approach: I don't look for staged poses but for the small gestures, rituals and imperfect moments that make your family unique. Why reportage family photography? Because the most precious memories live in everyday life: sleepy mornings, crooked little smiles, cuddles on the sofa. These moments lose their meaning if they're not captured. During a home session or family reportage I accompany you gently and unobtrusively — so you can move freely and the children remain themselves. No more cheese, please — instead real closeness and lively visual stories. How I work: I like to start with a relaxed chat over coffee, phone or video call to understand what moments you want to keep. On the day of the shoot I create a calm atmosphere: I work discreetly in the background, offer small, loving prompts and document what happens. Afterwards you'll receive a password-protected online gallery; I support you personally via WhatsApp or phone — from preparation to image selection. What sets me apart: My background as an educator gives me a natural connection to children and an eye for emotional details. I pay attention to rest, safety and the wellbeing of baby and family — especially for postpartum and newborn sessions. My visual style is warm, timeless and honest; the images should still move you years from now. In addition to family and newborn reportages, I also photograph maternity sessions and weddings in the region (Hamburg, Lüneburg, Winsen, Seevetal). To keep your photos alive beyond the screen, I offer lovingly selected wooden photo products — photoblocks, magnetic picture rails and wall prints.
