I’m Drew Benson, a family and portrait photographer based in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps. My focus is family photography: I aim to create images that do more than document a moment — they become timeless memories. With a background in photography and tour guiding I know the best locations around Garmisch and use these settings to authentically tell your family’s story. My approach is personal and relaxed. Whether newborn photos, baby and child portraits, baptisms, communions or special occasions like birthday parties — I work deliberately quietly and attentively to build trust. I rely on natural poses, playful prompts and genuine interaction so real emotions and small details come through. Many of my images are taken outdoors — on meadows, in the mountains or at scenic viewpoints — because the Alps offer unique atmosphere and light. On request I also photograph in my home studio for calm, classic portraits. How I work with families: before the session we agree on location, style and your wishes. On the day I help with gentle directions to create relaxed moments while also capturing unposed instants — the little glances, the laughter, the touches. It’s important to me that children feel comfortable; often the loveliest images appear while they’re playing or simply being themselves. After the shoot I carefully select the strongest images and provide you with a curated selection of edited, print-ready photos that will last.
